THE CONCOURSE
The Concourse is Sydney's newest entertainment venue and cultural hub. Created by Willoughby City Council and opened in September 2011, The Concourse incorporates multiple live performance theatres, conference facilities, Chatswood Library, boutique retail outlets, restaurants and cafes.
JDA were awarded the task of communicating Council's vision in delivering The Concourse. Focusing on introducing a dialogue between Council and residents of the Willoughby Local Government Area, we deployed various traditional and new media techniques to stimulate thought and educate visitors about local sustainability issues.
Elements of the commission include a permanent exhibition space showcasing the leading sustainable design features and green credentials of the building; bespoke joinery using sustainable materials and methods; static and tactile interpretive signage, and immersive interactive multi-media.
