ST JOHN'S PRE-SCHOOL, ASHFIELDA new website for St John's Pre-school, created the ideal opportunity for this community-based early learning centre to reassess their perception in the community they serve. Choosing the right type of learning environment for a child is a significant responsibility, a fact in no way lost on ourselves as parents, and a challenge eagerly undertaken by us as designers. Firstly, we wanted to ensure that the site connected well with those assessing the experiential opportunities and philosophy of the Pre-school - the parents. We proposed that the centre adopt a look and feel that would differentiate it and communicate in a sophisticated way, to a community that is diverse in ethnic and religious composition. Our natural colour palette, floral illustrations and paper texture background, provides the perfect platform to convey a sense of an 'exploration-based' learning environment that is calm and serene. The traditional Christian values of the Parish are implied through our sensitive styling of the site and image captions. |
